Viral Video: If ‘failing at situational awareness’ had a face, this woman would surely be it! A woman went viral on social media, for miserably fainting at realising what was going on around her. A video of the woman in question was shared online, where she was seen busy watching a video on her phone. However, it was not her being deeply engaged on her phone that grabbed people’s attention, it was rather her failure to realise that the escalator she was standing on stopped moving long ago. What was further surprising was that she continued to stand on the stopped escalator, whereas people around her began to manually climb the stairs without disturbing her or alerting her.

The video went viral and left people with a mixed reaction. Some found the incident funny and pulled all kinds of jokes, while the rest commented on the ‘lack of situational awareness’ of the woman. Many also chastised the practice of being indulged in phones.

The video was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘Pubity’. The post was captioned, “Legend has it, she’s still standing there.” The video was shared today and pulled 141K likes from people.

Life is literally passing us by while we spend it on our phones, mesmerized and getting cheap dopamine hits till our brains fry,” added a second person. “Legend has it that she is still there,” added another.

“Should be a very engaging video she's watching,” added a third person. “Can’t believe no one gave her a hint,” added a fourth user. “I wanna see when she realises it’s not moving,” added another. “Funny how no one tried to tell her, do kindness often ppl it’s free,” commented a sixth person.
