A San Diego content creator’s unusual cooking experiment has sparked a storm on the internet after she decided to turn an airplane seat into her personal kitchen. In a video that quickly went viral, Katie Brooks can be seen kneading dough and making pasta while travelling on a flight. The clip included the text, “POV: You hate airplane food, so you make it yourself,” and Brooks captioned it, “Anyone else?! Since everyone’s going crazy over this video. Just trying to show that pasta making is so easy you can do it on an airplane.”
What she intended as a lighthearted demonstration, however, didn’t sit well with many viewers. Social media users slammed the act, calling it unsanitary, reckless and inconsiderate, proving that some culinary experiments are better left on solid ground.

The post shared on Instagram under the username 'buonapastaclub' a few days ago received 8.2 million views from people online. "As a mom of a child with anaphylactic allergy to wheat, I’m shocked. Please don’t do this in an airplane where people are contained in a small vessel, air is circulated and the nearest hospital is hours away," a user wrote.
"God forbid an Indian did the same, the comment section would've gone crazy, the double standards," a second user wrote. "There’s nothing you could say to convince me your hands were clean enough to accomplish this task in an even remotely sanitary way in this environment," wrote a third user. "Congratulations. You now have a plate of raw pasta," added a fourth user.
"Kneaded with airplane lavatory-washed hands with a sprinkle of residual airport contact and seasoned with the finest recirculated airplane air," a fifth user added. "TSA wouldn’t let me bring a small mason jar filled with nuts. They said the lid was a “sharp object” and I had to throw it away. How did they let you bring your metal scraper/cutter??!!" asked another user.
