Bengaluru Woman Viral Post: Life in Mumbai didn’t turn out the way one Bengaluru woman expected and her honest rant on Reddit has now taken the internet by storm. After shifting to the city because of her husband’s job, she opened up about her struggles adjusting to daily life in India’s financial capital. Her post has reignited the classic Mumbai vs Bengaluru debate, with users split over her bold opinions. In her post, the woman didn’t hold back. "Hate the people here. This city has every single problem Bengaluru has, yet the people here have the audacity to tell me that I must be so lucky to live here instead of Namma Ooru. They have some image that Ooru is the only city with issues in this country. And all the stories that people tell about Mumbai being better than Bengaluru are lies,” she wrote, clearly frustrated.

She shared her experience with auto drivers in Mumbai, calling them dishonest. "Forget about auto drivers returning exact change - everyone from Mumbai told me the auto drivers are honest, so I foolishly gave 200 rupees for a 60-rupee journey where he had agreed by metre. I got back 50 rupees - he refused to give change back. So honest."

Another issue she raised was the idea that domestic help in Mumbai is more reliable — something she strongly disagreed with. She said, “Three maids in three months have taken 7, 10, and 8 days off. At home [Bengaluru], I can be confident they won’t come on Sundays, and the rest of the week is sorted.” She ended her post with a heartfelt line: “I can’t wait to be back home.”

Treatment of Bengaluru vs Other Cities: Rant

The post shared four days ago received many comments from Reddit users. The internet had mixed reactions. While many understood her emotional attachment to Bengaluru, others felt she was being too harsh on Mumbai and its people. One user wrote, "I've lived in both cities. 2 years in BLR and 5 years in MUM. So this really feels a bit of an odd post because Mumbai has 10000 problems, but an auto driver not giving back change isn't one. Dug up roads, bad air, greedy builder mafia, a headless yet somehow corrupt BMC, inflated prices, extreme rich-poor divide, overcrowded trains, bad drainage systems, lack of footpaths, puke-worthy dirty slums, traffic.. There are many ways you can attack Mumbai."

"It’s natural to feel attached to our own city, but we should also embrace and respect the local people, culture, food, and language of the place we live in. Every city has its own set of challenges and problems; understanding and adapting is part of living together," a second user added. "Idk about other things, but the auto experience in Mumbai was a million times better than other Indian cities, no doubt about that," added a third user.

"Having grown up in Bengaluru, no other city beats Bengaluru for me.. in terms of everything.. I have visited Mumbai many times, and there is no comparison to Bengaluru.. Ella sumne.. Avra city avrige hechu," added another user.
