Viral Video: Getting easy justice in a country like India is not exactly a piece of cake regardless of one’s gender or the level of crime against them. And the alarming increase in the number of false or fake cases and accusations has only added to the struggles of actual victims who are often dismissed, especially amid the lack of hard proof. Reminding people of something similar, a video was shared online, where a woman was seen tearing off her clothes while arguing with a man in public. The video was being recorded by the man himself. As soon as the clip went viral, many netizens pointed out the ‘possibility’ of the woman trying to pin the blame on the man for the torn clothes.

The woman, however, was not heard blaming the man for the same, but regardless continued to tear her clothes and shout at the man. The two, as per what was heard in the video, were arguing over some land dispute. The date and the location of the matter could not be confirmed.

The video went viral and received all kinds of reactions from people. Most criticised the woman for playing a ‘false victim card’, while the rest pointed out the strict laws against such fake accusations. Some also expressed relief that the man had his camera on to prove his innocence.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘himalayanhindu’. The post was captioned, “No one can win against the naked... The woman herself is tearing her clothes and accusing the boy that- you are clinging to me.”

“Whatever the fight may be about, is it right for a woman to tear her own clothes to trap a man in a false case? It was good that the boy's camera was on, otherwise the woman would have definitely got him arrested in a false case. Everyone from society to law would have blamed the boy. Strict legal action against this woman is very necessary,” the post further read.

The video was shared two days ago and pulled 1M views from people. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take.

“This is a common practice nowadays. Imagine if he did not have this on record. How nowadays people have made a mockery of themselves in society, how disgusting it is,” a user said. “This is a personal matter of someone's family and neighbourhood, there is no justification in posting it on social platforms,” added another.

“The government needs to think about whether the laws made for the safety of women are being misused by people like these. Controversy is in its place but to what extent is it right to trap someone in this manner,” added another. “This is why the victim card sometimes is so wrong. Such incidents also create issues for real victims who are actually innocent,” added another.
