Giving India's most popular dance form a Western touch, a woman performed Bharatanatyam in front of the Washington Monument in the US. Swathi Jaisankar, a Bharatanatyam dancer, shared a video of her dance performance on social media and it instantly went viral as the netizens loved her sharp moves. Some also commended her confidence that was displayed while performing a traditional piece of art in a foreign land.

The post was shared by the dancer on her Instagram handle, with the caption, “Did a quick spontaneous choreography to this jathi during my trip to DC! Shoutout to the sweetest crowd.”

In the video, the woman was seen doing Bharatanatyam in front of the Washington Monument. Her moves were clean and her expressions complimented the traditional dance form. She donned a kurta and leggings with a Duppata tied to her side. The audience’s cheers were also heard in the background of the video.

The dance performance left the viewers awestruck. Many also loved the sectioned location as it gave it a unique touch. The video was shared a while back and has gained more than 50K likes from netizens so far.
