Viral Video: A woman visiting India shared a scary moment on Instagram that has now gone viral and sparked strong reactions online. In the video posted by Ameana Finds, she talks about being followed by a man for 25 minutes, from one end of the street to the other. She says the man didn’t say a word, just kept walking behind her, getting closer, and staring without looking away.

"I was on my way back to my guest house when I noticed this man behind us. He started following, getting closer, staring without looking away. We kept walking, hoping he’d stop. But he didn’t. I was scared he’d figure out where I was staying. So even though it wasn’t far, I ordered a taxi to my guesthouse. He stood there the entire time while I waited—over 20 minutes—just watching. Imagine if I were alone. Why is this okay?" In the video, the woman films the man while talking to her friend. She shares how uncomfortable and unsafe she felt during the entire situation.

"And he followed me from that end of the street to this end. I don't know, but this dude's been following us for 25 minutes. Is he still staring? Yes. I mean, we've been standing here for 10 minutes. It’s 4:50 right now—5:03, I still stand here. Imagine if I were on my own. It's a little bit scary, isn't it? Earlier, there was another guy on a scooter just roaming around, following me until I noticed him. Now this one. It doesn't feel massively safe, if I’m honest. Thank God the taxi's here. Still there. Still there."

Her story has sparked an important conversation online about the safety of women, especially travelers, and why such behaviour continues to be ignored.

The viral video, shared on Instagram by the handle 'ameana_finds' three days ago, received 556k views from people. Users were quick to react to the viral video. One user wrote, "I understand your fear. Trust me, he was just being curious. down and out and probably mentally unstable, but my gut feeling … harmless. Fear not." "Two very large and fully grown Europeans, a man and a woman, pretending to be scared of a curious little old man and humiliating him online to get some online attention," a second user added.

"Bring some protection like pepper spray, take care, gorgeous," added a third user. "If this happens, approach a local, and they will get rid of such people. Instead of wasting time, just ask a local. Many a time, such guys roam around because they are either broke or mentally unstable. Next time, approach a local and feel safe," added another user.
