With India facing one of the most dreadful monsoons this year, social media has begun to witness a whole lot of instances where online delivery partners were seen struggling to work amid heavy rain. Keeping the same in mind, a Redditor shared a post expressing concern over the same. The post was mostly about feeling ‘guilty’ as a customer while ordering in rain, as driving during rain can lead to accidents. However, providing some comfort to the thought and expressing gratitude over the concern, a Zomato delivery boy came forward and instead commented on doing the exact opposite. The Reddit post, along with the delivery guy’s comment, went viral on the internet. As per the comment, the Zomato delivery agent encouraged placing orders regardless of the weather conditions as he dubbed the orders a huge part of the intensives the agents earn.
The Reddit Post was shared by ‘oddbirdout’, with the caption, “Do you guys order in food (through Zomato/swiggy) while it’s raining?”. The post’s description read, “I do WFH and I didn’t eat lunch because work was too hectic so whenever this happens I just order in through Zomato. But it’s been raining nonstop the last few days and I feel so guilty ordering in because some weird OCD is telling me the Zomato guy will skid and die because of the rains and it’ll be on my conscience. I’m not asking for a solution here, just wondering if other people think the same too.”
“Zomato delivery boy here. I am glad that you care for us. But please don’t worry about us. We drive slowly and safely through these rains. And your order is what keeps us going. If you don’t order then that’s one less order and that one order might even affect our whole payout since our daily income depends largely on daily incentives and we need to achieve x orders to claim it. So please do order. Even if your food is late a little, we will drive safely:),” the Zomato delivery boy’s comment read.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Y'know I try to avoid ordering when it's raining heavily as much as possible. Sometimes I order when it's clear out, but by the time the order reaches, it would've been raining heavily for a while. Your reply makes me feel a little better about when it happens,” a user said.
“All this is new info for me (and I'm sure many others as well. Thank you for your service - us WFH folks who literally are sitting through our work and having hectic schedules really appreciate it,” added a second person. “Man mad respect for you guys y’all save my life bro,” commented a third user.
