Who Is Ahmed al Ahmed: An unarmed man identified as 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed saved multiple lives during the mass shooting at Sydney's Bondi Beach after he tackled and disarmed one of the gunmen as shots were being fired at civilians on Sunday evening. Ahmed al Ahmed’s heroic act was shared widely online where people praised him for bravery and fast reaction. Ahmed al Ahmed suffered two gunshot wounds during the attack.
The footage shows Ahmed al Ahmed hid behind the car as the deadly attack was taking place. He then runs towards one of the gunmen and pins him to the ground, snatching away his rifle and pointing the weapon back at him.

7News spoke to Ahmed's cousin Mustapha. "He's in hospital and we don't know exactly what's going on inside," he said. "We do hope he will be fine. He's a hero 100 per cent," he added.
As per an NDTV report, Ahmed Al Ahmed had no experience with guns and just happened to be in the area where the deadly shooting took place. Ahmed was also scheduled to undergo surgery later that night. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also described Ahmed as a "hero".

Australian authorities have identified Naveed Akram, 24, and his father Sajid Akram, 50, as the terror suspects behind the shooting that targeted Jewish families celebrating Hanukkah. The attack, now formally declared a terrorist incident, left 16 people dead and at least 40 injured, including a 10-year-old girl. The oldest victim was 87, while five others remain in critical condition.
Investigators say the father and son drove to Australia’s most famous beach armed with long-arm rifles and homemade explosive devices before opening fire on crowds attending the “Chanukah by the Sea” event, ABC News reported. New South Wales Police confirmed that Sajid Akram was shot dead by officers at the scene, while Naveed Akram was critically wounded and remains under police guard in hospital.
