Amid the ongoing conflict between Indian and Pakistan, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has reportedly overtaken major Pakistani army positions in Quetta, the provincial capital. BLA claims suggest that the Pakistani military has been forced into retreat, losing effective control over parts of the city. Explosions and gunfire were reported near key military installations, including the Frontier Corps headquarters.

This aggressive strike by the BLA adds to a growing multi-front challenge for Pakistan. On the western frontier, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continues attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On the eastern front, Indian forces are reportedly maintaining pressure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), while the Indian Navy strengthens its presence in the Arabian Sea. With the BLA asserting dominance in Balochistan, the Pakistani military now finds itself surrounded on all sides.

Deadly Attacks Shake Balochistan

The BLA’s assault on Quetta follows a series of high-profile attacks. On Tuesday, the group claimed responsibility for two deadly IED attacks in Bolan and Kech districts, which killed 14 Pakistani army personnel. In Bolan, a convoy carrying Special Operations Commander Tariq Imran and Subedar Umar Farooq was blown up by a remote-controlled device in the Shorkand area, killing all 12 soldiers aboard. Another bomb targeted a Bomb Disposal Squad in Kech, killing two more.

BLA: "We Will Intensify Our Resistance"

Jeeyand Baloch, spokesperson for the BLA, issued a statement declaring that their operations are part of a broader resistance against what they call a "mercenary occupying force." He criticised the Pakistani army for acting in the interests of foreign powers, including China, rather than defending national sovereignty. “This is not a national army but a commercial one,” he said, warning that attacks would only grow more intense in the coming days.
