The Police in Ontario launched a hunt for two white, young males who vandalised Sri Krishna Brundavana Temple, a Hindu place of worship in Canada's Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
On Thursday (local time), the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) issued a statement and said that it was investigating the "vandalism to a Hindu temple in Georgetown."
The incident took place on Sunday, and according to the police, at approximately 1:10 am, two male suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts were seen leaving a pub in the downtown area of the town before walking to the temple. The HRPS also released the pictures of the suspect which were shared on the social media.
"Security footage captured the suspects ripping down and damaging a sign at the front of the temple," the release added.
The Canadian news outlet, Halton Hills Today, described the act as mischief and cited a congregant describing the act as a hate crime against Hindus.

The Halton Hills Today reported that the CCTV footage showed the destruction of the sign in front of the temple in progress.
Reacting to the shocking incident, the Hindu Candaian Foundation (HCF) said, "must be viewed in context” as reflecting “the continued rise of extremism."
In a post on X, HCF said, "The growing influence of radical ideologies and extremism has led to hateful actions targeting Hindu Canadians and their sacred spaces in past. Such actions threaten the harmony of our diverse communities."
Notably, this is not a first incident of vandalisation of Hindu temple in Canada. Earlier in 2022 and 2023, the Hindu temples were targeted by extremists in the North American country. In November last year, a Hindu temple was invaded by a group of pro-Khalistani outfits, which included a sergeant with the Peel Regional Police.
After massive outrage, he was suspended for participating in the protests. Meanwhile, Inderjeet Gosal, the lead organiser of the Khalistan referendum in Canada, was arrested for his role in the attack.
