Dbrand Canada Controversy:  A Canadian accessories brand, Dbrand, faced severe backlash on social media after it hurled an offensive response towards an Indian customer who raised a complaint about a MacBook accessory. The incident came to light after Bhuwan Chitransh, an Indian techie working in the Netherlands, took to the 'X' (formerly Twitter) to lodge an online complaint about a Dbrand MacBook skin which started changing colour just two months after he purchased it from Dbrand.

Chitransh, while sharing a photo of the MacBook skin, tagged Dbrand's official account in a post in which he wrote: “@dbrand bought this skin a couple of months back. Couldn't even remain the same colour after just 2 months. What should I do?”

In retaliation, Dbrand responded with a cutting remark, ridiculing the customer's surname by saying, "Your last name is basically s**t rash, be serious,” it wrote.

The post by the company led to huge outrage with many users criticising it for the racial undertones in the reply. Several people quoted the post, asking for an apology from the company. The sharp criticism, however, failed to deter Dbrand which remained unapologetic and did not delete the post. The viral post attracted huge attention as it garnered over 4 million views and around 1700 comments, with many calling out the unprofessionalism of Dbrand.

A user Abhijeet Nair wrote: "Its better to get service and maintenance from shops nearby. Instead of going for such expensive brands, go to shops nearby, they may give you the same kind of service and cost less money. At least no one will pass racist remarks.

Another user asked him to sue the company for the racist attitude while a person called for the government of India's intervention.

"@DoC_GoI Cancel the license of this company and kick them out of India ASAP," wrote Aryan Munjal.
