Iran's newly appointed Supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has a list of properties worth billions of dollars across various countries. The new Supreme leader reportedly owns multiple luxury homes in Tehran, Dubai, and Frankfurt. However, these assets are not bought under his own name. The properties are owned by various shell companies.
A Bloomberg report suggested that his assets include Swiss bank accounts and a luxury house in Britain, which is valued at around 1.38 million dollars. According to the report, a long network of companies and intermediaries had funneled several properties in parts of Europe, the Gulf, and North America.

The opulent properties feature luxury homes in London and hotels in Germany and Spain. Some properties are located on London's exclusive Bishops Avenue, which is often considered "Billionaires Row," wherein most houses are priced at millions of euros.
What's shocking is that none of these properties are directly owned by Khamenei. Instead, it is bought by an Iranian businessman, Ali Ansari. The Iran-based businessman in 2025 was described as a "corrupt Iranian banker and businessman." Ansari was reportedly sanctioned for providing financial support to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Although Mojtaba Khamenei was a well-known figure in the Tehran regime, he actively avoided the limelight for a long period of time. According to a report in the Guardian Times, Khamenei's political emergence can significantly change the dynamics of Iranian politics. His leadership is also seen as a revival of the hereditary power structure that was discarded during the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

Khamenei's position also brings up geopolitical tensions. US President Donald Trump earlier opposed Mojtaba's appointment, adding that such a scenario would be undesirable.
