US businessman and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk on Saturday took a dig at former CEO of Twitter (now X) and Indian-origin techie Parag Agrawal. He stated that Agarwal was fired because he was not able to do anything for the firm. This all started with Musk's post in which he clarified that all the US federal employees will be served notice seeking their work report.
Musk, in his post, stated that soon the employees will receive an email in which they will be asked to mention their accomplishments from the past week. He added that the employees will be fired if they fail to submit a detailed accounting of their work week. Musk stated that he wants all the employees to be productive and accountable for their work. "Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation," Musk had stated.
However, one of the social media users pointed out that this was an old style of Elon Musk, adding that he had demanded the same from the Indian techie three years back. "Almost three years ago, Elon Musk asked Parag Agrawal what he got done last week. Now he's asking every federal worker the same question," the user pointed out.
While replying to his post, Musk confirmed that Parag was fired because he was unable to perform. "Parag got nothing done. Parag was fired," Musk replied to his post.
The user had also posted a screenshot of the heated exchange between the tech billionaire and former Twitter CEO. "Free to tweet- is Twitter dying? or anything else about Twitter," Parag had told Musk.
However, Musk replied by asking what the CEO had done in the last week. "What did you get done this week?" Musk asked Agarwal. This was the beginning of the fallout between Musk and Agarwal.
