A dramatic moment in Guyana’s Parliament has gone viral after Minister of State for Agriculture Vikash Ramkisoon responded in fluent Hindi during the Budget 2026 debate, countering an opposition member who questioned his command of the language. Switching languages on the floor of the National Assembly, Ramkisoon declared, “Respected sir, whoever thinks I cannot speak in Hindi, I will debate them in Hindi.” He openly challenged the opposition member to choose any topic, venue, or television channel for a Hindi-only debate, adding, “Vishey woh tay karein, main jawab dunga bina kagaz dekhe,” stressing he would speak without notes.
Indian High Commission Shares Viral Clip
The High Commission of India in Georgetown amplified the moment by sharing the video on social media, writing, “गयाना की संसद में गूंजी हमारी हिंदी” (Our Hindi echoed in Guyana’s Parliament), and calling Ramkisoon’s response a “befitting reply.”
