Pahalgam Terror Attack: Pakistan has reportedly heightened the security of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed, fearing a covert operation by Indian security forces. As per a Times of India report, Saeed has been granted the cover of former commandos from the Special Services Group (SSG), following India’s firm resolve to avenge the killing of 26 people at the hands of Pakistan-backed terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
The LeT chief has reportedly been deliberately kept in a densely populated area surrounded by mosques and madrasas. Security has also been beefed up at all his residences, including in Lahore's Johar neighbourhood.

To protect Saeed, CCTV cameras with facial recognition have been installed within a one-kilometre radius of his location and a control room has been set up to monitor suspicious movements in the area, as per the aforementioned media outlet.
The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack. Saeed heads Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa. He played a major role in orchestrating large-scale terror attacks in India, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
The ISI and other Pakistani agencies have mobilised to protect Saeed as the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has also vowed to take revenge for the killing of civilians in Pahalgam. The Bishnoi gang issued a threat on social media, attaching a photo of Hafiz Saeed and declaring that this "precious asset of Pakistan" would be targeted.
Hafiz Saeed is officially under Pakistan’s so-called custody. He was sentenced to 46 years in prison after being convicted in seven terror financing cases. Even though he is in custody, reports suggest that he is enjoying a comfortable and luxurious lifestyle in high-security detention.
Meanwhile, tensions between India and Pakistan are increasing with every passing day. Top leaders in Islamabad have already warned the world of the ‘inevitable’ Indian military action against Pakistan.
