Hindu Lives Matter: In response to the rampant attacks on minorities, especially Hindus, in post-Hasina Bangladesh, a large number of people gathered in front of the British Parliament on Saturday to register their protest. Carrying placards of 'Save Hindus' and 'Hindu Lives Matter', these protestors chanted slogans of "Justice Justice...We Want Justice".
Bangladesh has witnessed a steep rise in the targeted violence against the Hindu and Christian minority groups living in the predominantly Islamic country after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's forced ouster on August 5. Prime Minister Hasina's democratically elected government was thrown out by the protestors after a two-month-long civil unrest, which stemmed out of 'anti-quota' student protests.
Reports of attacks on Hindu minority homes, businesses and temples surfaced after Hasina's ouster from the country. Many members of Hindu and Christian minority groups were killed in the targeted violence and their houses were set on fire.
This invoked strong reactions from various quarters of the globe with people from different walks of life voicing protest. The United Kingdom too witnessed protests on Saturday against the attacks on minority Hindus.

"We have gathered here because, for the last 5-6 days, people are burning our houses in Bangladesh. People are torturing Hindus, Christians and minorities. Our brothers and mothers are killed. We want justice for Bangladesh. We are the citizens of Bangladesh and we want to stay in our country peacefully..." a protestor said as quoted by ANI.

Earlier today, the head of the newly-formed interim government and Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus strongly criticised the rampant violence against the minority community in the country.
“Are they not the people of this country? You have been able to save the country; can't you save some families?... You must say — no one can harm them. They are my brothers; we fought together, and we will stay together,” he asserted, underscoring the need for national unity.
