Days after Canadian police identified Jaswinder Singh Grewal as one of the Khalistan sympathisers involved in the violent assault on radio journalist Rishi Nagar in Calgary on September 30, a 27-year-old man of Indian origin has been charged with assaulting the radio host.

The incident occurred near a banquet hall in the Horizon neighbourhood, according to police reports. The Calgary Police Service announced on Tuesday that Dilpreet Singh, a local resident of Alberta, has been charged with one count of assault and is set to appear in court on November 15, according to a report by The Hindustan Times.

The assault occurred outside the radio station of the victim, Nagar, who sustained minor injuries but remains resolute in his commitment to journalism.

Nagar stated, "I have always upheld the principles of unbiased journalism and will continue to do so," after the attack. Two days later, he appeared at a news conference with a large bandage over his left eye, noting that while he might have sustained serious eye injuries, the motive behind the assault was even more concerning.
