In a shocking turn of events, a 63-year-old Indonesian farmer's disappearance ended in a gruesome discovery that has left the village reeling. The farmer, who had gone missing on Friday morning after failing to return home from the plantation, was found dead inside the stomach of a massive 26-foot python, Antara, Indonesian news agency reported.

The search for the farmer began when his neighbours inquired about his whereabouts, sparking a frantic search of the plantation. His motorbike was found parked by the road, but there was no sign of the farmer. It wasn't until Saturday afternoon that the villagers found an unusually large python near the plantation.

Wild guesses after villagers found massive python

The villagers' suspicions grew as they found a python with a massive body. Its unusual size left villagers with wild guesses about whether the giant python had swallowed the missing farmer. "At that point, residents grew suspicious because the snake appeared to have swallowed a person. They then killed the snake, and it turned out the victim was inside its stomach,” Dirman said.

“When the snake’s stomach was cut open, it was indeed the victim who had been swallowed. Residents had initially been suspicious due to the snake’s appearance," an official said.

The village is still reeling from the shock of this incident, which marks the second time in recent years that a person has been swallowed by a python in Indonesia. In 2017, a 25-year-old farmer was found inside a 7-meter python in a similar incident. While snakes are common in Indonesia, attacks on humans are rare, and this incident has sent shockwaves through the community.
