Amid a deadlock between Iran and the United States over finalising terms for a permanent cessation of hostilities, Tehran's new revised peace plan has been shared with Washington by Pakistan.
According to a report by news agency Reuters, citing Pakistani sources, the peace talks have stalled between the two countries as they "keep changing their goalposts."
"We don't have much time," the report quoted the source as saying. Iran on Monday said that it had responded to a new peace proposal sent by Washington, adding that both sides were engaged in exchanges.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that the country is focused on ending the war at this stage. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that Iran is desperate to reach a peace deal. He said, "I can tell you one thing, they (Iran) are dying to sign (a deal)."
However, Iranian state media has termed the US demands excessive. The US had shared a five-point demand.
The US sought a handover of uranium reserves, strict limits on Iran's nuclear program, reduced regional military activities, to allow full international inspection and to agree on security pacts with Western countries.
The report also suggested that the US refused to release even 25 per cent of Iran's frozen assets and refused to compensate for the losses incurred during the war.

On Sunday, Trump issued a sharp warning to Tehran, saying that the clock is ticking for it and that they should move fast or "there won’t be anything left of them."
"For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! President DJT,” he wrote in the post on Truth Social.
