The Tehran authorities have warned that properties belonging to Iranians living abroad could be confiscated if they are found supporting military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, according to a statement issued by the country’s prosecutor general’s office on Monday.
Iran’s state media reported that the warning targets members of the Iranian diaspora who “sympathise, support or cooperate” with what the authorities described as the American-Israeli enemy. The statement said such individuals could face the seizure of their assets in Iran, along with other legal penalties under the law.

The announcement comes amid protests organised by segments of the Iranian diaspora in several cities across the United States and Europe, where demonstrators have called for regime change and reacted to recent developments in Iran’s leadership.
According to the government, more than five million Iranians live abroad, with a large number residing in the United States and Western Europe. Some independent estimates place the diaspora population at nearly 10 million.
Iranian media reports also indicate that Telegram channels inside the country are circulating details of prominent Iranians living overseas who have criticised Iran’s clerical leadership or expressed support for the recent US-Israel strikes.
The latest warning follows heightened tensions after military strikes by the United States and Israel reportedly began on February 28, escalating unrest across Iran and triggering protests in several parts of the country, including Tehran. Reports suggest the demonstrations were met with a harsh crackdown by authorities.
