A loud explosion shook Shahid Rajaee Port in Iran's southern city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday, Iranian media reported. As per their reports, at least 80 people were injured in the explosion. Residents described the powerful blast as causing shock waves felt in neighboring towns, leaving everyone in panic. Shahid Rajaee Port is among Iran's most important commercial centers on the Persian Gulf, where much of the country's cargo shipments are received.

The reason behind the explosion is unknown, according to Hormozgan province's crisis management chief. Iranian news agency initially reported that the explosion took place at an administrative building in the port. Later, Tasnim cited sources suggesting a fuel tank explosion for unknown reasons, leading to the immediate suspension of all port operations and the dispatch of rapid response teams.

The blast damaged port facilities extensively. There have been conflicting reports of the cause, and no confirmation of the details has yet been made by an official statement.

This is a developing story. Further updates are awaited.
