Israel-Hamas War: In another development on the ongoing conflict between Israel and the militant group, the Israeli army stated that they had "completed the dismantling" of Hamas's command structure in northern Gaza and with this now they are focusing on the south further.

Gaza Has Become Uninhabitable

In the consequences of the Isral and Hamas war, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths said Gaza has become "uninhabitable" and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. Griffiths emphasised that the horrific October 7 attacks had resulted in the deaths and injuries of tens of thousands of people, the majority of whom are women and children.

Israel Vows To Crush Hamas

Israel vowed to crush Hamas rulers in Gaza after they carried out the deadliest attack in the country's history on October 7 killing around 1,140 people. The Hamas members also took around 250 hostages, 132 of whom remain in captivity, Israel said.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, Israel responded by shelling the area and deploying ground forces, killing at least 22,722 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his government had directed the army to "eliminate Hamas", return all the hostages and ensure that Gaza will "never again be a threat to Israel". "The war must not be stopped until we achieve all of the goals," he said in a statement.
