The United States has started deploying its fighter jets in the Middle East amid intensifying conflict between Iran and Israel, Reuters reported. This came after Donald Trump returned to the US from Canada, leaving the G7 summit midway. Trump said America’s patience was running out as the former pushes Iran to surrender unconditionally.

Three US officials, cited by the news agency, said the US military is deploying more fighter jets to the Middle East and increasing the deployment of other warplanes, which will strengthen US military forces in the region. One official said the deployment includes F-16, F-22 and F-35 fighter jets. Two officials said the fighter jets were deployed to shoot down Iranian drones and projectiles.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump said everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran amid a deteriorating situation. He also said that Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will not be killed now, although America knows where he is hiding and he is an easy target.

Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz, however, said Khamenei would meet the same fate as that of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

After Trump’s warning, people in Tehran have started leaving the city and running towards safer places. The main area of Tehran started getting empty from Tuesday morning and many shops remained closed. The ancient 'Grand Bazaar' of the city also remained closed.

Traffic snarls were observed on the roads going west from Tehran. Many people were seen going towards the Caspian Sea region. Queues were seen at petrol pumps and gas stations in Tehran. The city is witnessing a shortage of food items. Leaves of doctors and nurses have been cancelled.
