Pop icon Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were spotted dining together Monday night at the upscale Montreal restaurant Le Violon, sending social media into a frenzy. Videos and images of the two together have gone viral on platform X, prompting speculation about the nature of their relationship.

According to reports from TMZ and later confirmed by PEOPLE, Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, shared a relaxed evening over cocktails and seafood, including a dish featuring lobster. The duo was also seen warmly interacting with Chef Danny Smiles and later headed to the restaurant's kitchen to personally thank the staff, highlighting the evening's friendly and intimate tone.

Body Language Sparks Curiosity

An eyewitness present at the restaurant described Perry as “completely engaged,” often leaning in to listen intently to Trudeau during their conversation. While the atmosphere between the two appeared light and cheerful, their privacy was closely guarded. Security personnel were stationed nearby, monitoring the surroundings and shielding the pair from potential interruptions by watching through mirrored glass.


Recent Breakups And Busy Schedules

The outing comes at a time of personal transitions for both Perry and Trudeau. Perry recently parted ways with long-time partner and actor Orlando Bloom in June. She is currently in Canada for the ongoing leg of her music tour, with performances lined up in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and a double show in Toronto on August 5 and 6. Trudeau announced his separation from wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple shares three children. Since stepping back from the public spotlight after leaving office, Trudeau has kept a relatively low profile, making this rare public outing even more noteworthy.
