Khalistani sympathizers in Canada have sparked controversy after calling Canadians ‘invaders’, asking them to “go back to England and Europe", In a viral two-minute video of a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ in the country, the Khalistani supporters could be heard saying, “This is Canada, our own country. You [Canadians] go back to England or Europe.”
The remarks have provoked widespread public outrage and raised fresh concerns about the increasing presence of Khalistani supporters in the North American country.
According to News18.com, Indian intelligence sources have described the incident as part of the "new normal" in Canada, highlighting that Khalistani groups are gradually "infiltrating" all sectors of the country. They suggest that, with inadequate surveillance, these groups are increasingly gaining influence over local Canadians. Additionally, Hindus are reportedly being asked for protection money, and there is now a growing threat to residents in their communities.
Khalistanis march around Surrey BC and claim “we are the owners of Canada” and “white people should go back to Europe and Israel”.

This comes after diplomatic ties between India and Canada soured following the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani sympathiser designated as a terrorist by India, last year.
The relations between the two nations reached an all-time low after Ottawa labelled the High Commissioner and five other Indian diplomats as "persons of interest" in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, designated as a terrorist by the NIA. In response, New Delhi strongly condemned the action and recalled six diplomats, including Verma.

Amid strained ties between New Delhi and Ottawa, Khalistani extremists recently attacked Hindu-Canadian devotees within the Hindu Sabha temple premises in Canada’s Brampton, further escalating tensions. The Indian High Commission in Canada had condemned the "violent disruption" by 'anti-India' elements outside a consular camp.
PM Modi condemned the incident and asked the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law. Several political parties and religious organisations in India also demanded that the Trudeau government take urgent steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future.
