Randeep Singh Malik, one of the close associates of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been arrested in the United States on charges of plotting attacks on Indian nightclubs, one of them on rapper Badshah's Seville Bar and Lounge in Chandigarh. Malik was arrested by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department, and it was confirmed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that they are coordinating with Indian agencies over Malik's detention.
Malik is wanted in the celebrity Nadir Shah murder case in Delhi, where he is suspected of having provided weapons from abroad that were used to commit the crime. He is also accused of conspiring for bomb blasts and targeted attacks near clubs in Gurugram and Chandigarh.
Indian authorities are making strong attempts to extradite him to stand trial for which he has been charged under sections 323, 325, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code in a case registered in 2011 in Kurukshetra. He is currently kept at the Jackson Parish Correctional Centre in the US.
Connection To Badshah Club Blast
Two bombs went off outside Seville Bar and Lounge, which is owned by rapper Badshah, and De Orra Club, owned by local businessmen in Chandigarh, on November 26, 2024. A man was caught on CCTV throwing crude bombs at the clubs before running from the place, breaking glass windows and creating shockwaves in the nightlife of the city. Goldy Brar, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, publicly took credit for the attack on social media a few hours later. According to reports, Malik took part in the firing and organised the attacks at Brar's behest.
Malik's role is also attributed to the Gurugram blasts. On December 10, 2024, crude bombs were hurled outside two well-known clubs in Sector 29, Warehouse Club and Human Club. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) then filed a June chargesheet against five accused groups, including Khalistani Canada-based terrorist Goldy Brar and Malik.
