London Arson Attack: Four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community were set on fire in north London on Monday in what British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described as "a deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack."

The London Fire Brigade, which sent six fire engines and 40 firefighters to the scene, said multiple cylinders on the vehicles exploded, shattering nearby windows. No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made, as per Reuters.

The SITE Intelligence website reported that an Iran-aligned multinational militant collective, the Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand, had claimed responsibility for the attack near a synagogue in Golders Green. The group is said to have been behind similar fires in Liège, Belgium, and Rotterdam and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

A video clip from the scene showed three men in hooded jackets approaching the ambulances before they were engulfed in flames. Police confirmed the fires are being treated as an antisemitic hate crime rather than a terrorist incident. However, counter-terrorism officers with specialist expertise are leading the investigation. Authorities have not yet verified the authenticity of the online claim.

UK Prime Minister Condemns Arson Attack

The United Kingdom's Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday condemned the arson of four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community ambulance service in Golders Green.

In a post on X, he underlined that antisemitism has no place in society and urged people with information about the attack to come forward to the police.

In a post on X, he said, "This is a deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack. My thoughts are with the Jewish community, who are waking up this morning to this horrific news. Antisemitism has no place in our society. Anyone with any information must come forward to the police."

Meanwhile, the Met Police, which is the police service for the Greater London area, said in its statement that officers received a call from the London Fire Brigade in the early hours of Monday about a fire on Highfield Road, Golders Green.

"Officers attended the scene where four Hatzalah ambulances were on fire," it said. While no arrests have been made so far, police officials are looking for three suspects at this early stage.

Israeli Embassy Condemns the Act

The Israeli embassy in London, which has long criticised Britain for failing to do more to tackle antisemitism, said the firebombings followed years of "hate-filled marches" in support of the Palestinians, along with incitement and intimidation.

"Enough is enough," it said on X, calling for "decisive action to put an end to this climate of intimidation before it spirals further. Silence and inaction are no longer an option."
