A Georgia high school teacher who is facing criminal charges after allegedly having sexual relations with multiple minor students was facing blackmail threats from students for better grades. According to a report by Cleveland19, Maris Nichols, a 25-year-old former teacher at Alexander High School, has been arrested following an investigation into improper relationships with minor students.
School teacher arrested for having sexual relations with students
According to initial arrest warrants, Nichols, a married woman and a mother of a baby girl, allegedly had sex with a student on two separate occasions, once on April 23 inside a schoolroom closet, and a second time on May 2 inside a vehicle.
However, newly released search warrants indicate a much wider issue in the case. Authorities allege that Nichols had sexual contact with a second student on May 3. Later, investigators discovered that inappropriate messages, explicit photographs, and videos had been sent from Nichols’ phone to multiple other students. Among the evidence recovered was a video depicting the teacher engaging in a sexual conduct with a student while wearing a sweater that read "Jesus loves you."
Blackmail investigation
As explicit footage of the encounters began to circulate throughout the student body, the situation took an unexpected turn. According to police, a student who uncovered the explicit media, along with knowledge of Nichols’ active OnlyFans account, leveraged the information to blackmail the teacher in exchange for higher academic grades.
Notably, OnlyFans is a subscription-based social media platform. Here, creators monetise their content directly through their audience. While its official policy allows a broad range of content creators, the vast majority of users and creators use the platform to produce, buy, and sell explicit adult content.
The search warrants state that multiple students eventually attempted to use the threat of leaking her OnlyFans videos as leverage for grade inflation. At this time, local law enforcement officials note that the investigation remains ongoing, and it is still unclear whether any of the students involved will face criminal charges for extortion or blackmail.
