Kami Rita Sherpa, a 54-year-old Nepalese climber and guide, has made history after climbing the world’s tallest peak, Mount Everest for a record 29 times. Rita broke his record, which he had set last spring season by reaching the summit of the world's tallest peak twice within a week, marking his 28th successful ascent.

Before climbing Mount Everest recently, Kami Rita said that he had "no plan of climbing Sagarmatha (the Nepalese name for Mount Everest) for any specified number of times." The Department of Tourism stated that the record-breaking climber reached the summit at 7:25 a.m. (NST) on Sunday while leading an expedition organized by 'Seven Summit Treks'.
