Nepal was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on Friday night resulting in more than 140 deaths and several injuries, leaving the country again in devastation. The Himalayan country is prone to earthquakes and tremors hit Nepal often.
The country witnessed the deadliest earthquake in 2015, leaving approximately 9,000 people dead and widespread destruction in the country.
Entire towns, ancient temples, and numerous historical landmarks were reduced to rubble. Over one million houses were destroyed in the aftermath of the quakes, inflicting a staggering economic toll of 6 billion dollars on the nation.

November 3, 2023:
A powerful earthquake struck western Jajarkot, Nepal, claiming the lives of 140 people as of now and injuring several others. The quake, with a magnitude of 6.4, led to many building collapses. The quake was so strong that many parts of North India also felt the tremors including the national capital Delhi.
October 3, 2023:
Western Nepal experienced two earthquakes, measuring 6.3 and 5.3 in magnitude in the district of Bajhang, bordering India. These quakes injured 17 individuals, damaged homes, and triggered a landslide that blocked a key highway to the southern plains.
January 24, 2023:
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake in a remote Nepalese district resulted in one fatality and damage to over two dozen houses. The tremors were felt as far as in New Delhi.
November 12, 2022:
Nepal and India felt the shaking caused by a magnitude 5.4 earthquake that struck Nepal.

A quake of 5.7 in Doti District, Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal claimed the lives of at least six villagers, including four children. The tremor destroyed mud and brick houses in remote communities in the foothills of the Himalayas.
September 16, 2020:
Nepal experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 6, causing tremors felt in the capital, Kathmandu.

April and May 2015:
Nepal faced its deadliest earthquake in history, measuring 7.8 in magnitude on April 25, with a second tremor 17 days later. In total, these earthquakes claimed the lives of around 9,000 people.
The previous deadliest earthquake in Nepal's history occurred in 1934, resulting in at least 8,519 fatalities in Nepal, along with thousands more in India.
