Tahawwur Rana Extradition To India:Pakistan has officially denied any link to Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, just as he is being extradited from the United States to India.

Rana, long wanted by Indian authorities for his alleged role in the 26/11 attacks that killed 166 people, is expected to be in Indian custody soon. But what’s raising eyebrows is Pakistan's sudden attempt to distance itself from a man believed to have deep connections with its military and intelligence network.

Tahawwur Rana Extradition To India: Pakistan Cites His Canadian Nationality

In a statement released by its Foreign Office, Pakistan claimed that Rana is no longer a Pakistani citizen, citing that he has not renewed any Pakistani documents in the last 20 years and currently holds Canadian nationality.

Observers say the timing of this statement is no coincidence. With Rana’s extradition to India now official, Islamabad is possibly bracing for damaging revelations about his ties with the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

“Pakistan’s denial looks like a desperate move to avoid international scrutiny,” said a senior Indian official familiar with the case.

India, after a prolonged legal battle in the US, has finally secured Rana’s extradition. He will be taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and may be presented before a Delhi court shortly. The operation is being closely coordinated with India’s external intelligence agency, RAW.
