The New York Times continues to captivate puzzle fans with its latest daily brainteaser, “Strands”—a refreshing twist on the classic word search. On May 24, the theme “Flights of Fancy” challenged players to uncover a sky-high set of words inspired by imaginative journeys and aerial wonders.
Strands, which has quickly become a fan-favorite alongside the NYT’s lineup of games like Wordle and Connections, offers a new puzzle every day. Each board comes with six themed words and one hidden “spangram”—a longer word or phrase that stretches from one side of the board to the other, revealing the puzzle’s central theme.

How To Play NYT Strands:
Players must uncover all six themed words by selecting letters in sequence—either dragging across them or tapping each letter in order.
