Pakistan Airbase Attack:  Tehreek Jihad Pakistan (a branch of Pakistan Taliban) Fighters including suicide bombers attacked one of the safest Pakistan airforce bases in Punjab's Mianwali on Saturday morning at around 4 am, independent reports claimed. Deemed as one of the biggest attacks on Pak's security establishment, the attack came months before the general elections in the countries.

Many videos(Verasity can not be verified by English Jagran) surfaced over social media, especially X, in which loud explosions and smoke could be heard and seen on the airbase site. Pakistan-based X users and open-source intelligence sources have also claimed that the attack was very 'serious'.

"Three militants killed in response to the attack, three others active in air base attack. Air Force Base attacked by militants in Central Pakistan. Three aircraft, fuelling tanker damaged in attack: Reuters cites Pakistan military," reported ANI.

"Multiple Pakistani journalists report and videos emerge where reportedly unknown gunmen have stormed a Pakistani Airforce training base in Mianwali, inflicting casualties."

More details are awaited," said the agency.

As videos and photos surfaced, the Pak army said that three aircraft had been damaged so far by the attackers. Three of the Jihadi fighters have been neutralised and gunfighting is underway with three more. Meanwhile, the invasion point on a boundary wall was located by the responding security forces.

Photos of a ladder and the spot where barbed wire was cut to enter the airbase, surfaced over social media. One more video which is said to be of the attack site surfaced on social media. The user claimed that multiple fighter jets have been damaged by the attackers.
