Masood Azhar Audio Clip: An audio clip of Masood Azhar, the chief of the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) surfaced in which the terrorism is heard admiting he paid a high price in attempt to escape from jail in Jammu and Kashmir in the 1990s, NDTV reported. In the audio clip, the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attack has also been hears recalling his failed attempt to escape from jail by digging a tunnel.

According to the media reports, his speech is said to be a part of a public event in Pakistan as the voice reverberated in the loudspeaker, indicating the nature of the programme. NDTV reported that the intelligence sources have confirmed the varacity of the audio.

He narrated how his he failed to escape from Kot Bhalwal jail despite digging a tunnel. He recalled his plan was foiled on the day he decised to escape through the tunnel. The terrorist, who lives in Pakistan, said he did not forget the strict action by the jail authorities after his plan to escape unearthed. Azhar said he still feared the jail authorities, who assaulted him for his escape attempt. He said the jajil authorities tied him in chains, restricting his routine activities.

Masood Azhar's Family 'Torn Into Pieces' In Indian Missile Strikes: JeM commander

Meanwhile, recently, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) commander admitted that the family of the terror group's chief Azhar was "torn into pieces" in the Indian missile strikes on May 7 on the outfit's headquarters in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

In a viral video uploaded to a YouTube channel, JeM commander Ilyas Kashmiri can be heard fuming over the Indian attack that killed the family members of Azhar and also bragging about fighting in neighbouring countries for Pakistan.

Kashmiri is reportedly speaking in Urdu at the Mission Mustafa Conference in Pakistan's Punjab province on September 6. Standing among several gun-wielding men, he said, "To protect the ideological and geographical boundaries of this country, we hit (wage a jihad in) Delhi, Kabul and Kandhar. And after sacrificing everything, on May 7, Maulana Masood Azhar's family members in Bahawalpur were torn into pieces (in Indian strikes)."
