Southend Airport Plane Crash: A small passenger aircraft reportedly crashed at London Southend Airport on Sunday afternoon, sparking a significant emergency response and prompting authorities to urge the public to avoid the area. The aircraft involved is believed to be a Beech B200, which was scheduled to fly from Southend to Lelystad in the Netherlands.
The incident occurred shortly before 4:00 PM BST, with emergency services rushing to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a 12-metre aircraft. A massive fireball was seen erupting from the crash site, with videos circulating online showing thick smoke rising into the air. The dramatic visuals and severity of the crash have since drawn public and political concern.

In an official statement, Essex Police confirmed, "We were alerted shortly before 4pm to reports of a collision involving one 12-metre plane. We are working with all emergency services at the scene now, and that work will be ongoing for several hours. We would please ask the public to avoid this area where possible while this work continues."
Plane Crashed Headfirst
The East of England Ambulance Service also responded swiftly to the crash, deploying multiple units including four ambulance crews, a hazardous area response team, a rapid response vehicle, and a senior paramedic to manage the scene and any potential casualties. As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding injuries or fatalities.

John Johnson, a witness at London Southend Airport, described seeing a “big fireball” after a small plane crashed headfirst into the ground shortly after takeoff. Johnson, who was there with his family, said the aircraft initially waved back at onlookers before powering up for departure. Seconds after takeoff, the plane sharply banked left, inverted, and crashed. The impact resulted in a massive fireball, leaving families at the scene in shock. Johnson immediately called emergency services to report the incident.
