Amid the ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the US, Iran and Israel, a new controversy has emerged surrounding the business dealings of the Trump family. Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr have reportedly joined Powerus, a Florida-based autonomous drone company, as it seeks to capitalise on the increasing demand for air defence systems in the Middle East.
The regional instability triggered by US and Israeli strikes on Iran over a month ago, has created a lucrative market for defence technology, placing the company in a strategic position to secure high-value contracts.
Strategic Push Into Gulf Nations
Through his involvement with Powerus, Donald Trump Jr is allegedly pushing for the sale of interceptor drones and missile defence systems to Gulf countries. Pentagon documents reveal that he is a primary investor in the firm.

Sources suggest that Trump Jr has been personally engaging with Gulf officials to advocate for these arms deals, framing them as essential security upgrades during the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Field Demonstrations And Advanced Tech
Brett Velicovich, co-founder of Powerus, confirmed that the company is currently conducting extensive demonstrations of its interceptor technology across the region.
"Our team is doing many demos across the Middle East right now for our interceptors," Velicovich told the Associated Press. "We have very incredible tech that can save lives."
While Velicovich touted the life-saving potential of the systems, he declined to name the specific countries involved in the current negotiations.
Eyes On Pentagon's Rs 10,201 Crore Drone Fund
The Pentagon recently allocated a specialised fund of approximately Rs 10,201 crore (USD 1.2 billion) dedicated to drone and missile defence. The primary objective of this fund is to supply American allies with advanced interceptor systems to counter threats from Iran and the China-Russia alliance.
According to insiders, Powerus is positioning itself to capture a significant portion of this fund by securing contracts with Gulf nations. Critics and experts suggest that the company may be leveraging the Trump family’s political influence to gain an advantage in these high-stakes defense negotiations.

The escalating Israel-Iran conflict has left Middle Eastern nations scrambling for sophisticated air defense solutions. Powerus is offering customised drone interceptors tailored to the specific security needs of the region. As the conflict intensifies, the intersection of the Trump family's political status and private defense interests continues to draw intense scrutiny.
