Thousands of civilians stranded in war-torn Gaza have passed through the Rafah Border crossing into Egypt, the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said on Tuesday. The corridor was reopened by the IDF on Tuesday to facilitate the passage of foreign nationals and wounded Palestinians.

“Thousands pass through the evacuation corridor the@IDFopened for civilians in northern Gaza to move southwards,” COGAT wrote on X (formerly Twitter) while sharing a video of the civilians' movement.

As per a report in CNN, over 114 foreign nationals have been evacuated from war-hit Gaza into Egypt through the Rafah Border crossing. Also, four wounded Palestinians reached Egypt for treatment through the crossing.

The month-long war has caused a deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza as Israel's military campaign has intensified, with many of the territory's 2.3 million inhabitants repeatedly displaced as they struggle to find shelter and safety.
