The Taliban Government in Afghanistan has introduced a new law, which will serve as draconian for women. Under this law, women can no longer keep their faces uncovered. They must also cover their entire bodies. Additionally, women are not allowed to speak loudly or pursue education. This law was created after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021, but it has only been implemented recently. As per the Associated Press, the law is mentioned in a 114-page document.

This is the first formal announcement of the moral laws since the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan. On Wednesday, the Supreme Leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, approved these laws.

"Inshallah, we assure you that this Islamic law will be beneficial in promoting virtue and eliminating evil," the ministry's spokesperson, Maulvi Abdul Ghaffar Farooq, said.

Notably, Article 13 is specifically related to women. It outlines how a woman should dress and behave in public. Now, women must cover their entire bodies, including their faces, at all times in public spaces, to ensure that they do not attract the attention of others.

The Taliban government has also banned women from singing or reading loudly in public. The Taliban considers a woman's voice to be intimate. The law further states that women are not allowed to look at men with whom they do not have a blood or marital relationship.

If a woman violates these laws, there is a provision for confiscating their property. The women can also be detained for up to three days. In 2022, the Taliban had already banned women from working in NGOs.
