An unearthed video from 2017 has once again put US President Donald Trump in the spotlight, revealing his criticism of Qatar. In the old video, Trump is heard calling Qatar a "funder of terrorism" at a speech outside the White House. "The nation of Qatar has, unfortunately, been a funder of terrorism at a very high level," Trump says, citing discussions with other nations that urged action against Qatar. "We had a decision to make," Trump continues, referring to his decision to confront Qatar over its actions.
Trump further said, "I decided, along with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, our great generals and military people, that the time had come to call on Qatar to end its funding… They have to end that funding." These remarks came during the height of Qatar’s diplomatic rift with several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE, over its alleged support for extremist groups.
President Trump said the nation of Qatar has been a funder of terrorism at a very high level. I hope he won’t accept the “gift” Qatar is giving him because that’s literally a Trojan horse.

$400 Million Jet Gift Controversy
The narrative takes a twist with the revelation that Qatar is allegedly preparing to gift Trump a luxurious Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet, valued at around USD 400 million. According to ABC News, the jet is meant to serve as Air Force One and is reportedly set to be donated to Trump’s presidential library foundation after he leaves office.
According to a report by Politico, Qatar’s media attaché to the US, Ali Al-Ansari, quickly denied the reports, stating that no decision had been made regarding the transfer of the aircraft. Al-Ansari emphasised that discussions between the US Department of Defence and Qatar’s Ministry of Defence were still ongoing and the matter was under review.
