US President Donald Trump sparked controversy this week by sharing a provocative video on his Truth Social platform, featuring B-2 stealth bombers dropping bunker-buster bombs on Iranian targets, set to a parody version of the 1980s track “Bomb Iran” by Vince Vance & the Valiants.
The song, originally a parody of the 1961 hit “Barbara Ann”, includes inflammatory lyrics like, “Ol’ Uncle Sam’s getting pretty hot, time to turn Iran into a parking lot,” and “Tell the Ayatollah, ‘Gonna put you in a box!’” The post quickly went viral, drawing both amusement and criticism online. The same parody song previously caused political uproar when then-presidential candidate Senator John McCain referenced it during his 2007 campaign.
Spotlight On B-2 Stealth Bomber
The footage in Trump’s post showcased the US Air Force’s B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, one of the most advanced and costly aircraft in America’s arsenal. Designed by Northrop Grumman during the Cold War, the bat-winged bomber is renowned for its stealth capabilities. Only 21 were ever produced, with each unit priced at roughly USD 2.1 billion.

The B-2’s unique radar-absorbing design makes it virtually invisible to enemy radar systems. Operated by just two crew members, it is capable of long-range precision strikes, including the recent joint US-Israeli mission targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Trump's Mixed Messaging On Iran
Trump’s post comes amid confusion over his stance on Iran’s leadership. Days after appearing to support Israeli calls for regime change in Tehran, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that the US does not seek regime change in Iran. “No. If there was, there was, but no I don't want it,” he clarified. He emphasised the need for calm, adding, “Regime change takes chaos, and ideally we don’t want to see so much chaos.”
The ambiguity surrounding Trump’s position reportedly forced the White House to step in. A spokesperson stated that any change in Iranian leadership “is up to the Iranian people” and that regime change is not a US military objective.

Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, revealed that preliminary talks between the US and Iran have already begun. “The conversations are promising,” Witkoff told Fox News. “Now it’s time to sit down with the Iranians and get to a comprehensive peace deal.”
