Krishna Avanti Primary School, part of the UK's initial state-funded Hindu-faith primary school network, has secured an "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted, a testament to its aspirational attitude toward learning and dedication to rounded student development. The achievement, which comes after the inspection on 24–25 June 2025, represents a milestone in the school's progress since its former "Good" rating.

Ofsted’s report praised Krishna Avanti for fostering a strong sense of community, belonging, and inclusion, noting that pupils, staff, parents, and trustees share a clear understanding of the school’s vision “to inspire spiritually compassionate changemakers.” Inspectors described the school as a place where students “achieve exceptionally well” and are “well prepared for the next stage of their education.”

Broad Curriculum And SEND Support

The report highlighted the school’s broad and balanced curriculum, with particular commendation for its early literacy and mathematics programmes. Special emphasis was placed on the school’s strong support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as its “well-established and well-taught” reading curriculum. Teachers were applauded for their “strong subject knowledge” and consistency in maintaining high standards across all areas of learning.

“Pupils are happy and meet the school’s high expectations for their academic achievement and personal development,” the report stated. “They are proud of their school and active participants in making it such an industrious, successful learning environment.” Inspectors also highlighted the exemplary behaviour of students and their active engagement in shaping school culture through leadership roles, including the school council, arts council, and ‘eco warriors’ initiative. The environment was described as “calm and productive,” with pupils demonstrating courtesy, respect, and responsibility.

Leadership And Dedication Recognised

Dr James Biddulph MBE, CEO of Avanti Schools Trust, welcomed the achievement, attributing the rating to the dedication of leaders, teaching staff, support staff, and administrators. “This rating reflects the Trust’s focus on providing an exceptional educational journey for all children while nurturing spiritually empathetic changemakers,” he said.
