US-Iran War: US President Donald Trump on Friday stated that the United States is 'totally destroying' Iran and declared that American forces will carry out intense strikes against the Iranian targets in the coming days.
Speaking to Fox News Radio, the Republican leader said, "We’re going to be hitting them very hard over the next week". However, Trump acknowledged that overthrowing the Iranian regime would be difficult.
“I really think that’s a big hurdle to climb for people that don’t have weapons. I think it’s a very big hurdle… It’ll happen, but… maybe not immediately," the US President said in an interview with Fox News.
Trump also kept the possibility of escorting vessels through the Strait of Hormuz open, adding that there is currently no plan to deploy American troops on the ground to seize Iran's enriched uranium.
Putin May Be Helping Iran A Little Bit: Trump
During the interview, Trump said he thinks Russian President Vladimir Putin may be helping Iran 'a little bit,' following reports that Moscow has shared advanced drone tactics with the Iranian regime to help them carry out attacks in the Gulf.
"I think he might be helping him (Iran) a little bit, yeah, I guess. And he probably thinks we're helping Ukraine, right?" Trump said.
"Yeah, we're helping them also, and so he says that, and China would say the same thing, you know. It’s like, hey, they do it, and we do it, in all fairness. They do it. And we do it," Trump added.
Earlier, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country would assist the United States in response to its request for help in dealing with Iranian drones in the region. However, Trump said that the United States does not need help with drone defence.

Trump Says War Would Even When 'I Feel It In My Bones'
Trump said that the war would end when 'I feel it in my bones' and assured that the American economy would soon return to what it was before he launched strikes on Iran. "This will bounce right back when it’s over, and I don’t think it’s going to be long," Trump said.
