US Strikes Venezuela: In a major escalation after months of US threats to use military power against Venezuela, Donald Trump launched a ‘large-scale military’ strike against the Latin American country, capturing President Nicolas Maduro and his Wife. The duo has been brought to New York City and is likely to face charges in the US.
In the latest development in the Operation Absolute Resolve, a military assault carried out against Venezuela, the United States has released the first video of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The video shows Nicolas in handcuffs and walking inside the headquarters of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in New York.
The Venezuelan president and his wife were brought to New York after they were captured. The duo is likely to face criminal charges in a narco-terrorism conspiracy case in NY.
Talking about the military assault on Caracas, Trump revealed that preparations were on for several days, but they could not carry out the operation due to unfavourable weather conditions. Here’s what we know about the US strike on Venezuela.

- US Companies To Work In Venezuela’s Oil Sector
In a media interaction on Saturday, Trump said that American energy companies will play a major role in Venezuela's oil sector. Regarding the oil industry, Trump stated that America's oil companies are the biggest and best in the world, and they will be deeply involved in Venezuela's oil sector.
He clarified that the US will be actively involved in this region. Trump said that this cannot be compared to Afghanistan, where America became a laughing stock for the whole world. He said, "America is no longer a joke."

Trump Explained How US Forces Captured MaduroTrump revealed that Maduro was inside the highly secure presidential palace, which was like a 'fortress.' According to him, Maduro was just about to reach a safe room, but before that, US forces acted swiftly and took him into control. Trump said that heavy blowtorches were kept ready to cut through steel walls if needed.
Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine said that the mission had been prepared for months. US forces conducted an in-depth study of Maduro's routine, locations, and security arrangements, and also carried out rehearsals by creating scenarios. He said, "We ensured there was no scope for error."

Operation Conducted Completely in DarknessAccording to Trump, the operation was carried out entirely in darkness. He claimed that almost all the lights in Caracas city were turned off.

Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodríguez claimed that civilians and military personnel were killed, but Trump said there was no loss of life or property on the American side. Some soldiers were injured, but all returned safely. The campaign was named 'Operation Absolute Resolve', in which more than 150 aircraft, fighter jets, bombers, and drones were involved.
