Washington | Jagran News Desk: US President Donald Trump signed an order on Friday, canceling the entry of immigrants without a health insurance cover. According to the order the immigrants should be covered with health insurance within 30 days of their entry into the United States. The immigrants will also be not allowed if they don’t have any means to pay for their insurance cost themselves.
However, the order passed by the White House claimed that it will not affect an individual’s eligibility for asylum or refugee status. It also states that the order will be implemented from November 3, 2019. The regulation on illegal immigrant’s movement in the country was Donald Trump’s centerpiece of his presidency.

Earlier last month, the Donald Trump administration informed that the administration has planned to allow only 18,000 immigrants to settle in the United States of America in the fiscal year 2020, which is the lowest figure in the history of new refugee schemes. It also said that the United States government is suffering from uncompensated care to the thousands of immigrants who don’t have any means to pay for their insurance.
"While our healthcare system grapples with the challenges caused by uncompensated care, the United States Government is making the problem worse by admitting thousands of aliens who have not demonstrated any ability to pay for their healthcare costs," Donald Trump said in the proclamation.

However, the proclamation should be applied only to the people who are in a quest to enter the country on an immigrant visa. The order also listed out the various insurances needed at the time of entry which should be approved, such as employer-sponsored plans and the Healthcare program for the elderly. It also states that people who are above the 18 years insurance under the healthcare program for the poor will not be approved
