Hours after Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei vowed to give a crushing response to Israel following an attack on its military sites, the US warned Tehran against attacking Tel Aviv. The United States has issued a warning to Iran, stating that it will not be able to restrain Israel if Tehran decides to attack the country.
Israeli intelligence, as reported by Axios, suggests that Iran might be planning to carry out an attack on Israel from Iraqi territory in the near future, possibly before the US presidential election on November 5.
An official stated that the US message to Iran was sent through the Swiss diplomatic channel, which has historically facilitated US-Iran communications. The White House did not provide comments on the situation, nor did Iran’s mission to the United Nations address the matter.

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre on Friday stated that Iran should refrain from any retaliatory actions, reiterating US support for Israel in the event of Iranian aggression. Additionally, Pentagon spokesperson Gen. Pat Ryder announced the deployment of further military assets to the region, including destroyers for missile defence, a fighter squadron, refuelling aircraft, and long-range B-52 bombers.
‘Won’t Be Able To Hold Israel’
“We told the Iranians: We won’t be able to hold Israel back, and we won’t be able to make sure that the next attack will be calibrated and targeted as the previous one,” the US official was quoted as saying.

Israel's recent retaliatory strikes on Iranian military facilities followed an October 1 attack by Iran, which involved launching approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, prompting many citizens to seek shelter. While the missile strikes caused limited damage and resulted in the death of a Palestinian man in the West Bank, they heightened tensions in the region. The ongoing conflicts, particularly the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and Israel's ground operations in Lebanon, risk escalating into a broader regional conflict, especially with the US presidential election approaching this Tuesday.
