A fresh wave of online chatter has pushed an explosive claim into the spotlight, that President Donald Trump is preparing to resign tonight, with Vice President JD Vance poised to step in and immediately pardon him. The rumour, which originated from unverified social media accounts, spread rapidly across X, drawing thousands of reactions despite the absence of any factual basis or credible sourcing.
Viral Claims Intensify Amid Epstein Email Release
Several users fuelled the frenzy with speculative posts. One person wrote, “Streets are saying Trump is going to resign tonight and JD Vance is immediately going to pardon Trump.” Another claimed the so-called “Trump endgame” involved stepping down for health reasons and securing a pardon. Though such posts gained traction, none were supported by official statements or established local news outlets.
The controversy coincides with the release of a cache of Jeffrey Epstein’s internal emails, a development that has reopened deep political fissures in Washington. The documents, made public by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and reviewed by CNN, include Epstein’s remarks about Trump, his associates, and a range of political figures.
Well, what do you think people? Is Trump going to resign tonight and get Vance to issue him a pardon against any allegations of kiddie fiddling business that might be in those Epstein files? pic.twitter.com/X1xscAVN39

What The Emails Reveal
One 2018 email shows Epstein writing to former Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler, saying, “I know how dirty Donald is.” The message came shortly after Michael Cohen pleaded guilty and began cooperating with federal investigators.
Other exchanges mention extended conversations between Epstein and his associates over the years. In a 2017 thread, former Harvard president Larry Summers reportedly told Epstein that Saudi officials viewed Trump as “a clown, increasingly dangerous on foreign policy.”
Another message cites Epstein claiming that Trump “spent hours at my house” with a woman identified by the committee as one of Epstein’s trafficking victims. Epstein also suggested that Trump “knew about the girls,” contradicting Trump’s earlier claims that he distanced himself from the financier.
White House Calls It 'Democrat Hoax'
The Trump administration has dismissed the claims entirely. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt accused Democrats of “creating a fake narrative to smear President Trump.” Trump echoed this, calling the developments “another Jeffrey Epstein hoax” and accusing his opponents of diverting attention from domestic issues.
Although the Epstein files have ignited a political uproar, there remains no credible suggestion that Trump is preparing to step down. With no media reports, insider statements, or official signs pointing towards a resignation, the viral posts seem to be nothing more than online speculation triggered by the ongoing controversy.
