2024 Renault Duster - Powertrain and Performance
The 2024 Renault Duster will be offered with three powertrain options - 1.6-litre four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine with two electric motors, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG engine. The 2024 Duster is equipped with performance features like a 4x4 Terrain Control with five driving modes - Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-road and Eco.
The 1.6-litre four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine is paired with not one but two electric motors and an electric automatic gearbox. The engine churns out a power output of 92 bhp while one electric motor provides an additional 48 bhp and the other motor serves as a high-voltage starter generator. These motors source their power from a 1.2 kWh battery pack which recharges itself easily through brake regeneration.
The 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is offered with a 48V mild hybrid motor. Both these power houses are utilised while starting the car or during acceleration which results in lower fuel consumption. A 0.8 kWh battery is also present that charges itself with the help of a brake regeneration system. Power will be sent in two drivetrains - 4x2 and 4x4 via a 6-speed gearbox.
The 1.0-litre petrol-LPG engine can be run on both petrol and LPG fuel. This configuration is fitted with two 50 litres tanks - one for petrol and one for LPG. The transition between the two fuel types can be conveniently made through a switch placed on the dashboard that allows you to do so.
