Aprilia India has unveiled the Aprilia RS 457 for the Indian markets. The bike was unveiled in the presence of two MotoGP riders, Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales, ahead of the Bharat MotoGP scheduled to take place this weekend, from September 22 to 25. Aprilia India has disclosed before that the bike will be locally manufactured at Piaggio India’s manufacturing plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. 

Aprilia India has initiated bookings for the RS 457, although the official pricing remains undisclosed. This model is set to compete with rivals like the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3 in the market.

Aprilia RS 457 - Design 

RS 457’s exterior design is inspired by the larger RS 660, boasting sleek lines, muscular steel tank, clip-on handlebar and the iconic three-pod LED headlight. This sportbike offers a choice of three color schemes – black, white, and silver. Designed for the true supersport experience, it offers an aggressive riding posture with a sporty triangle layout, featuring a lightweight subframe for added agility. The fairing on the bike has vents for improved aerodynamics.

Aprilia RS 457 - Engine

- Under the hood, the RS 457 boasts a brand-new 457 cc parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank, liquid cooling, and DOHC head design.

- This powerhouse delivers 47 bhp of maximum power and 48 Nm of peak torque.

- Despite its powerful performance, the RS 457 maintains a light kerb weight of only 175 kg.

- This results in an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, enhancing the bike's overall agility and performance.

- The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Aprilia RS 457 - Features

To remain competitive in today's motorcycle market, the RS 457 is packed with an impressive array of features. It boasts three riding modes, switchable traction control with three selectable levels, optional dual-channel ABS, and even offers a quick-shifter. These advanced features are easily accessible via a stylish 5-inch color TFT display, enhancing the bike's overall appeal.

Aprilia RS 457 - Hardware

- Suspension: The RS 457 features a suspension setup consisting of a 41 mm USD fork at the front with 120 mm of travel, and a rear monoshock with 130 mm of travel. Both suspension units are preload adjustable.

- Brakes: The braking system includes a 320 mm disc at the front with a Bybre 4-piston radial caliper, and a 220 mm disc at the rear with a single-piston floating caliper.

- Wheels and Tires: The RS 457 sits on 17-inch alloys with 110/70 tyres on the front and 150/60 tyres at the rear.
