Aston Martin is gearing up to introduce the DB12 to the Indian market on September 29. This latest addition to the DB series, globally revealed four months ago, is dubbed a 'Super Tourer' by Aston Martin. Unlike its predecessor, the DB11, which offered both V8 and V12 options, the DB12 will exclusively feature a more powerful V8 engine sourced from Mercedes AMG.

Aston Martin DB12 - Power and Performance

The Aston Martin DB12, fitted with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, generates 671 bhp and nearly 800 Nm of peak torque. This new V8 engine outperforms the DB11’s V12 engine by delivering 34% more power, owing to tweaked cam profiles, optimised compression ratios, larger turbochargers and enhanced cooling. This powerful engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds and reach an impressive top speed of 325 km/h. The powertrain is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission offering five driving modes: Wet, Individual, GT, Sport and Sport+.

Aston Martin DB12 - Exterior Design

The DB12 shares some design elements with its predecessor, including the C-shaped taillights, but it introduces notable changes. The front now showcases fresh headlights and a larger Aston Martin signature grille, giving the car a more robust appearance. The new headlamps, with the brand's distinctive LED daytime running lights, give the car a sleek design. Moving along the sides, the car's lines have also been sharpened and the air vent seems more prominent as it emerges from the front wheel arch.

Aston Martin DB12 - New Interior

Unlike the DB11, the DB12's interior is entirely developed in-house by Aston Martin and features a 10.25-inch central screen accompanied by various controls below it. The infotainment system offers support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and online connectivity features like over-the-air (OTA) updates and additional subscription-based services. Premium materials have been used throughout the interior of the vehicle. Additionally, customers now have access to an extensive array of customisation options through the brand's Q catalogue. Like before, the two-door Grand Tourer includes a set of rear seats.
