Ather Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer recently announced that it is working on two new electric scooters. Tarun Mehta, CEO, Ather Energy has now shared a video on his ‘X’ account revealing the name of one of the two e-scooters. In his tweet, he said, “On our 10th year at @atherenergy, announcing the pinnacle of the 450 platform - Ather 450 Apex!” The Ather 450 Apex is expected to be the fastest e-scooter that will be offered by the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer.

Ather 450 Apex
The teaser video shared by the CEO showcased Ather community members riding and testing the upcoming Ather 450 Apex and then speaking about how they felt after driving the new and faster Ather e-scooter. Although the video doesn't reveal any specifications, it is anticipated that there will be tweaks to low-end acceleration and the top speed will be increased than the current 450X which is Ather’s fastest e-scooter available in the country currently. Details about the battery pack and driving range are not known.
The tweet further read, "We invited some of our community members recently to take our fastest scooter yet for a spin. Can't wait to get it on the roads next year!" Therefore, it is anticipated that the manufacturer will reveal more details about the Ather 450 Apex in the coming days as they are gearing up to launch the new e-scooter in just a few weeks. The Ather 450 Apex is expected to go on sale in the initial months of 2024.
Ather 450X
Ather 450X is the company’s current flagship offering in India which is available with prices ranging from Rs 1.26 lakh to Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom). It can achieve a top speed of 90 km/h and can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The Ather 450X goes head to head with the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter in the segment.
Ather’s New Family-Oriented E-Scooter
Apart from the Ather 450 Apex, Tarun Mehta previously shared that they are also working on a family-oriented scooter for the Indian market. It is expected that this new e-scooter designed for families will offer an extended driving range while also being affordable in comparison to the existing Ather 450 range to make it more accessible for a diverse audience.
